Pee-Wee's Sweet Adventure

There's a screening of Pee-wee's Big Adventure on the beach tomorrow night. I told my friend Justin that I was going to make Pee-wee cupcakes for us to eat during the movie. He knows the guy putting on the event and before I knew it, he made a deal for me to sell my cupcakes at the event. I went from making probably a dozen cupcakes to making almost 100. lol

I didn't have enough time to make fondant toppers, so I made some out of card stock. Here's a pic of the toppers...

Harry Potter

One of the winners from the bake sale at work loves Harry Potter. Since the last film comes out tomorrow, she ordered a cake to celebrate! She sent me some pictures of cakes she liked, but told me to do whatever I wanted with the cake. I love Harry Potter, too. I've been re-watching the films to get ready for the last one, so I was super prepared to make this cake!

'Ello!

When I got this order for a Labyrinth cake I was so excited. But when it came to actually making it, I had trouble coming up with a design. The birthday girl loves David Bowie, the worm and the masquerade masks in the movie. I decided to go with the worm since he's so cute. Creating him out of fondant wasn't easy though. I'm not an artist/sculptor in any sort of way. I think the worm turned out ok. Next time I'll do a masquerade mask. haha

Lights, Camera, Action

Some ladies in customer service asked me to make a camera cake as a thank you to the video production guy for helping them out. I already had a lot of cakes booked, so I couldn't do anything fancy.



White cake with strawberry filling. It's a film negative with a video camera cutout in the center. The writing came out a little wonky, but that's ok. Writing isn't my strong point. Practice makes perfect!
