Hello Pretty
My lovely friend and co-worker, @fauxamor, celebrated her birthday back in November. See, it's been awhile since I've updated this blog! She loves many things, but some of her favorites are unicorns, Hello Kitty, the color pink and Rob Pattinson. I combined all those things for one girly, sparkly cake!

Sailin' On
It had been awhile since I gave away a custom cake on my Facebook page, so to make up for it a couple weeks ago I gave away three! One of the winners claimed her cake this week. And of course @fauxamor requested a challenging cake. lol
Here's what she wanted.
I said in a recent post I do not like 3D cakes, but since I like Pamela so much, I accepted the challenge. Here's how it turned out.
Not too bad. She loved it. That's all that really matters. :)

Bowtastic
It's Hello Kitty season! Or something like that, because I've gotten a lot of Hello Kitty cake orders lately. I've done a few Hello Kitty face cakes before, so I wanted to change things up with this one. My co-worker's daughter's favorite color is purple, so I wanted to incorporate it in the cake. Other than that, I didn't really plan out a design. Going with the flow was a good idea, because the cake was adorable!

Hello Kitty + Zombie + Nerd = Awesome
Raysa, one of my BFFs, won a custom cake from me months ago. She finally claimed her cake for her birthday last weekend. She said she wanted a nerdy or zombie Hello Kitty. I decided to combine both for one awesome Hello Kitty. You can't really see it in the picture, but I covered the cake in red splatter. I love putting "blood" splatter on cakes!

Like Mother, Like Daughter
A former co-worker and her mother have birthdays one day apart. She wanted to celebrate with matching cakes. She loves Hello Kitty. So a cake with Hello Kitty and Mary White (her mom) was perfect! I made two separate cakes so the birthday ladies could each have their own cake.

Hello... Kitty
I've gotten to know so much more people at work just through making cakes. Word of mouth is the best advertising ever! A co-worker requested a Hello Kitty face cake to feed four people. Four people? That would be a tiny cake! I made a cake that would serve a few more people so I'd have enough cake to work with.

I've made a few Hello Kitty cakes before and this one is definitely my favorite. It came out so perfect!

Sparkly Kitty
Another Hello Kitty cake. I think this is my third one. The only things the person requested is that the cake have black, sparkles and be cute. So I made the top black with cake sparkles and her bow is filled with pink sugar. Black, sparkles and cute... done, done and done!
